Suas are delighted to announce that there will be a second fundraising trek to Everest in October 2012.
In May and October 2012, Suas are organising fundraising treks to Mt Everest Base Camp to raise funds for education projects in India and Kenya. Nepal itself, is one of the most enchanting countries in the world, known globally for the warmth and hospitality of its people, its colourful culture, magical temples, not to mention breathtaking views of 8 of the worlds 14 highest peaks and of course Mt Everest itself! This trip has been designed so that you may experience and enjoy all of the above and much, much more!
Whilst this climb is graded moderate to strenuous it does not require any previous hiking experience, only that you are in good physical health and are able to walk up to several hours a day in hilly terrain with a light back pack.
The total cost of your trip is €3000, an absolute bargain price! €1750 will cover the cost of your trip and this must be paid by each participant themselves. Please note fundraised money may not be used to cover the cost of your trip. We are able to offer such a competitive price for 2 reasons, A) We work with a well respected local Nepali trekking company who have been working in the region for over a decade and not through international travel companies. B) This trip has been organised voluntarily and therefore no administration fee has been levied.
All fundraised money will go directly to our partners in India and Kenya. €1250 will provide the following: In India: 20 children in India to attend coaching centres for a year. In Kenya: 5 children in Kenya to attend primary school for a year. So why not join us? You can have the trip of a lifetime whilst giving the gift of Education to 25 children in India and Kenya. If you have any questions or would like further information on this trek, please contact beth.dinsmore@suas.ie I look forward to hearing from you!
Applications for the May trek have closed, but if you would like to know more about our October trek please e-mail beth@suas.ie
