Lead the Change Programme holds first weekend 26/02/2012
Last weekend, the Suas Global Citizenship Programme held the first weekend of it's Lead the Change project, working with students who feel the time is right to join the dots between global and local, to engage with our communities and to get active and involved in making change happen.
Hosted in Ballymun the participants learned about Global and Local Development, Leadership, Social Change, Facilitation and much more. Now the group will work to develop and implement projects to address needs identified by two local community groups; Ballymun Intercultural Group and Ballymun Regional Youth Resource.
Speaking about the programme Suas Development Education Manager Joanne Malone said "We're really delighted to be running this pilot and to have such great participants. It is really important to have this chance to connect global perspectives to local issues and to explore the difference we can make at all levels"
