Delhi, one of the largest cities in India is also home to millions of vulnerable children who currently fall outside the formal education systems for a variety of reasons such as poverty, child labour disability and family migration. There are almost half a million street & working children in the city, Prayas vision is to restore the lost childhood of children in need of care, protection and development. Prayas view education as a key intervention in rehabilitating children and work to provide educational access for children across all their project areas.
1. Bring 300+ out of school children into the education system:

2. Improve Quality for over 6,000 pupils through Staff Development
Suas and Prayas have just launched a Professional Development Centre (PDC) that will serve all of the 200 centres that Prayas run across 8 states of India. The centre their will develop a programme that will eventually support all of Prayas' teachers - providing in-service education training, planning and review meetings and professional development workshops. This centre is the first of its scale in India. 5 Core Staff | Professional Development Support and Training | 33 Teachers | Comprehensive, In-service Education, and fortnightly- review, planning and professional development meetings/workshops. | 7 Programme Managers | One per state, will receive regular support and input from the PDC team | 200 + Education Centres | Staff at all Education Centres will be supported by the PDC | 6,000 + children | Will be supported by the PDC |
