Sabuj Sangha is one India's foremost Rural Development NGOs. Founded by the local community over 50 years ago, it has strived to improve the health, education and livelihoods opportunities of over 100,000 people in one of the most isolated regions of India, the Sunderbans area of the Bay of Bengal. Sabuj Sangha's community includes rural farmers and the migrant slum communities along the railway tracks connecting the region to Kolkata. The organisation has grown significantly since its inception and particularly since 1992. The budget for Sabuj Sangha has grown from just €1,000 in 1992 to over €1 Million today. This growth has enabled Sabuj Sangha to greatly enhance their service offering to the communities they serve. The large scale growth has also created a need for organisational development and change.

This will follow on from an evaluation of organisational structure that Sabuj Sangha is currently completing with the support of an expert from the Indian Institute of Management.
