Take A Course
The Suas Global Issues course is a seven week evening course which gives students an introduction to development issues in a critical and challenging way. It is not a 2 hour lecture but rather an engaging and interactive session where students are encouraged to get involved in discussions.
Students attend the course from a range of disciplines so it’s a great opportunity to learn from other students, as well as from the session facilitator. No previous knowledge of development issues is needed to participate on this course. The course looks at a different topic each week and highlights how students can get involved in taking action on a range of issues.
Topics Covered on Global Issues Course:
- Introduction to development
- Global health
- Trade and livelihoods
- Environmental sustainability
- Debt justice
- Taking action
Courses run for 7 weeks in UCC, UCD, NUIG, TCD, DCU and NUIM and take place from 6.30-8.30 one evening per week. For course schedules click here.
The cost of the course is subsidised by Irish Aid, Europe Aid and Concern Worldwide.
