We are very grateful to those that offer their time to volunteer with us. For people looking to help out in the office, we can only accept applications from people that are already living in Dublin.
Ideally, volunteers will be able to demonstrate organisational, computer and time management skills at interview, with examples from previous roles.
To be considered for future roles, please email a letter of application, your CV, and contact details of two referees to hr@suas.ie
If you are at college in Ireland, please contact your local Suas Society about volunteering with them, for example on a mentoring project.
Ireland Programme assistant
We are interested in applications from people for a part-time role assisting with the administration of our Mentoring and Development-Education Programmes, as well as working with us on some key development areas.
The time commitment required is 3 days per week, ideally for a 2-3 month period in the Dublin office, starting immediately.
One element of the role will be supporting the application process for volunteer mentors, and conducting reference checks. For that reason volunteers must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be very organised and must have good planning skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
The role will involve some data entry and processing of information. For that reason, the volunteers must have fluent English, and strong Excel skills.
For the position above, please send a letter of application, CV, and contact details of two referees to hr@suas.ie
Shamrocks for Schools
As part of the St. Patrick's Day festivities each year, hundreds of Suas volunteers take to the streets of Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast to fundraise for the partner schools in India and Kenya.
To add even more colour to our national day, the Suas team paint shamrocks on the faces of parade revellers young and old, accepting donations along the way.
All money raised goes directly to Suas' partner schools in Calcutta, India and provides a quality, holistic education for children living in the cities' poorest areas, some of whom are the first generation in their families to receive a formal education.
If you would like to get involved with this project and you can spare a few hours on the 17th this year, please sign up so that we know which city and shift you would prefer.

There are countless reasons, but the most common reason that volunteers have for getting involved with Suas is because they want to support our mission of high quality education for under-resourced communities. To support that, people want to donate some time and a skill they have.
We are grateful for these contributions, and take on as many volunteers as we can.
In all cases, we ask for a minimum time committment and this is to ensure that our investment in training is worthwhile and that the organisation benefits.
Many of our volunteers have gone on to paid positions either at Suas or another nonprofit org, and we hear from them that volunteering at Suas prepared them well.
We maintain a panel of potential volunteers and can add your details to that if you would like to be considered.
