Since 2002, Suas has gone through a period of rapid growth. In 2003, there was one employee, today there are 17 full-time equivalents (FTEs), including those who volunteer on a part-time basis in the office.

There are hundreds of people volunteering with Suas activities around Ireland, such as mentoring projects, fundraising and raising awareness of Global Issues.

The support to our partners funds the employment of at least 100 educational staff in India and Kenya.

Global Issues Course Campus Coordinator

The Suas Global Issues Course is a 7 week evening course which provides participants with an introduction to development issues. Sessions are delivered by experienced facilitators and development practitioners and are participatory and interactive. We are looking for Campus Co-ordinators to support the delivery of the Global Issues courses on DCU Campus and NUIM, to act as key point of contact on their campus between the team in the Suas office, course facilitators and course participants. Volunteer Programme Intern (9 month internship)

The Suas Volunteer Programme is a nine month, part-time ‘leadership through service’ development programme for young adults in Ireland. The programme offers participants a cross-cultural learning experience, through which they can develop the skills, confidence and commitment required to effect positive change both in Ireland and internationally. As part of the Volunteer Programme team, you will work across different business functions within Suas to support the Volunteer Programme. You will receive training and hands on experience throughout the year to develop your skills in a range of areas.Throughout the 9 months you will work and lead on specific projects as well as being an integral part of the VP Team which will include attending regular team meetings and ensuring communication within the team is maintained.  This is an opportunity to gain hands on experience of working within a project management environment in a not-for-profit organisation. Regional Coordinators, Literacy Support Programme (part time) 

Suas Literacy Support Programme currently operates in major cities across Ireland and works at the ‘coal face’ providing direct learning-support for 8 to 14 year olds attending DEIS schools to improve their standard of literacy through the selection and delivery of evidence based literacy support programs. Learn more about the programme here. We are now recruiting for a Regional Coordinator for projects in each of the following locations: Cork, Galway and Waterford. The Regional Coordinator will ensure the smooth running of the projects working with the Literacy Support Programme Team (based in Dublin), relevant college bodies, Suas societies, Suas Mentor Coordinators, corporate partners and local community partner organisations/schools, and will attend approx 2-3 meetings in Suas Head Office, Dublin.
